On Violence explores the intersections of violence with everything from white supremacy, climate change, and state power, to sexuality, and gender. Building on a foundation of short readings with historians, theorists, and artists who explore their own efforts to confront violence in its varied forms, students will develop their own projects that will challenge society's increasing expression and acceptance of violence while considering what steps we, as individuals, can take to combat this trend.
